What you give up either way

  • Polished UI/UX and animations present in the commercial app
  • Reliable handling of exotic DisplayLink/docking-station edge cases
  • Ongoing support, updates and cross-mac compatibility testing
  • Integrated paid license management and bundle offers

An open-source project doing the core job proves a replacement is possible. It does not prove it matches ExtraDock, and it does not prove anyone has run it for a month. How we decide.
