Dumb Phone alternatives

1 open-source project that already does this job. Free to use - not free to run, which is what the numbers on the right are for.

The projects

GeorgeClensy/Escape-LauncherA minimalist Android launcher to help quit phone addiction — a finished app demonstrating the core idea on Android.Open on GitHub

What you give up either way

  • Polish, animations, and long-term UX iterations from a dedicated design/QA team
  • Cross-platform parity (the app's Android product and future features)
  • Marketing, large user community, and brand-driven discovery
  • Any proprietary heuristics or internal telemetry the vendor may use

An open-source project doing the core job proves a replacement is possible. It does not prove it matches Dumb Phone, and it does not prove anyone has run it for a month. How we decide.
